Daniel - July 2005

For the Fourth of July, we wore our American flag shirts!

We also celebrated the Fourth by going to the Mississippi Agriculture Museum, where they had an "old-fashioned Fourth" in their reproduction of a 1920's small town...

In addition to the free lemonade, watermelon, and ice cream, we were able to meet members of the Mississippi Braves and take a train ride around the outdoor museum...

We also went to the petting zoo, where Daniel enjoyed seeing the cows and practicing his "moos"!

Daniel loves going to home improvement stores!....

but he insists on shopping in a race car!

Momma and Daniel enjoy going to the playground at Liberty Park!

    Some things never change!

When Momma and Daddy were vacationing in Gatlinburg, Daddy found a stuffed black bear with a red leash, just like the one he had gotten from Gatlinburg when he was a little boy!...

Daniel was very excited to meet Daddy's bear (whose fur shows signs of being loved a lot!)...

and was eager to give his own bear lots of love with kisses...

and hugs!   (Daddy's bear is also getting some pats on the head!)...

But Daniel's favorite person to kiss is still Daddy!!

We also went on a trip to New Orleans!  Momma and Daddy enjoyed eating beignets (and Daniel enjoyed drinking juice) at Cafe du Monde....

We enjoyed exploring the French Quarter....

  and walking through Jackson Square!...

We spent our second day in New Orleans at the zoo!...

Even though it was VERY hot, we had a great time!...

The day we went happened to be the zoo's 120th birthday!  There were a lot of fun animal shows and demonstrations for the celebration!...

Our favorite exhibit was the elephants!...

During the elephant show, the elephants did lots of tricks such as picking up heavy objects with their trunks, balancing on small chairs, and standing on their back legs...

Daniel was very excited about seeing the elephants perform, especially since he had the best view in the zoo!

In addition to being interested in animals at the zoo, Daniel loves his stuffed animals at home...he often "cooks" for and "feeds" his puppy, Cotton!

Daniel also uses his spoons to feed someone else....

  himself!!!
